Kodiak & Kodiak-X

..stepping out of the box!

Welcome ...

to the web site that will bring you all the updated information for Kodiak and Kodiak X courses in the Catoctin Mountain District.  Kodiak is the Venturing youth leadership courses offered in an exciting and challenging atmosphere using whatever high-adventure resources you have available.  We offer courses while backpacking, rafting down a river or bicycling the C&O canal.  Kodiak teaches leadership skills in a fun way that is internalized by the Venturers who take the course.  In other words, it is a challenging high-adventure trek with a simple and fun leadership course included.  Kodiak is not taught indoors or in a classroom; it is done completely outdoors using nature's examples of leadership.

The KODIAK Trek is open to all Venturers & Boy Scouts who are (or will be) at least 14 years of age by the Trek date.
